INCITE's honorary awards sit alongside the program's project categories and are designed to recognise long-term leadership, commitment and impact that extend beyond a single product, project or year.
Stewarded by the Western Australian Innovation, Technology & Talent Alliance (WAITTA), the honorary awards acknowledge those who have helped build, grow and sustain WA’s technology sector over time through entrepreneurship, business leadership and talent development.
2025 winner: Tina Ambrose was named Achiever of the Year alongside Kay Hargreaves (not pictured) for their work as immediate past co-chairs of Women in Technology WA (WiTWA).
Below are Western Australia's three honorary awards in which individuals or organisations can be nominated. Find out more on the INCITE Awards website, or visit the INCITE Awards nomination portal to start a submission.
Please note, the Digital Inclusion Award previously included in the honorary awards is now part of the mainline program, with a pathway to the national iAwards and international Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards.

It is intended to acknowledge those who not only achieve personal success, but actively contribute to building capability and opportunity for others.

The WA Pearcey Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognises a Western Australian entrepreneur who has demonstrated national or global impact through innovation, leadership and business growth.
Aligned with the national Pearcey Awards and sponsored by the Pearcey Foundation, this category encourages WA technology founders and leaders whose work extends beyond state borders, while remaining grounded in Western Australia’s technology innovation ecosystem. The award criteria places emphasis on scale, influence and contribution to Australia’s broader technology landscape.
2025's winner Chris Morrissey was awarded the Pearcey accolade for his role as founder and managing director of MSSP Ever Nimble, and contributions to talent and diversity in cyber security.
The Dr Mal Bryce WA Tech Company Award recognises long-standing technology companies that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to Western Australia.
This WA-only recognition honours organisations that have chosen to grow, invest and remain headquartered in the state, contributing to local capability, employment and economic resilience over time. The award acknowledges longevity, stability and the role established companies play in supporting WA’s technology ecosystem.
2025 winner Norwood Systems was recognised as the Tech Company of the Year for significant contributions to the development of artificial intelligence systems and for increasing Western Australia's recognition as a technology innovation leader.
Honorary Awards differ from project-based categories by focusing on long-term contribution rather than short-term outcomes. Nominees may be drawn from across industry, startups, research, academia, government and the community, reflecting the diverse pathways that shape WA’s innovation landscape.
As the INCITE Awards mark their 35th year, the Honorary Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the people and organisations who have helped shape the sector over decades — and who continue to influence its future.
Nominations for the Honorary Awards are now open and will close Monday, 25 May 2026. Winners will be announced at the 35th INCITE Awards on Friday, 17 July 2026 at The Westin Perth.
